Nija Cotten, MS, BCBA is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has over 20 years of experience in early intervention and parent education, with over a decade dedicated to supervision and training.
Nija began her career in 2009 in social services, supporting children and families with and without developmental disabilities through in-home and group services. Her expertise includes discrete trial teaching, social skills groups, behavioral skills training for employees, and parent training.
From 2011 to 2013, Nija returned to UIUC to pursue a MSW before transitioning to ABA. While working directly with children and families, she recognized the critical need for additional parent support to improve the overall quality of life for families raising children with special needs. As a parent of a child with autism, she experienced firsthand the transformative impact of behavior analysis and committed herself to making a difference in the field.
Nija is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of evidence-based interventions that are culturally compassionate, comprehensive, and effective. Through her work, she strives to empower ABA providers and families with the tools and knowledge they need to support the development and success of every child served.
